always in with the new

hi! so, every day is new year's day for me. we're given what seems to be an endless amount of opportunity to make better decisions and embrace this gift of life with every new day.

but, these chances are not endless. one universal truth is that we will leave our bodies. so, why not do the best we can while we're in them? 

as a new hospice graduated nurse*, i have the honor of working with spirits in bodies who are on the way out. some are conscious and weep at their impending demise. some are unconscious and i wonder they're experiencing.

as we welcome a new year, i hope that we reflect and marvel at our incredible existence, even if we're suffering. feeling uncomfortable is just a part of the opportunity of our bright and beautiful lives.

free taiji classes and 

beginner series

taiji in chicago is the taiji/taichi school i co-run with the earnest nathan paulus. if you'd like to experience doaist principals in movement, we offer free classes jan 11 and 12. and our beginner series runs january 12-april 12. 

this practice is super challenging and much deeper than it seems. after decades of searching, i'm grateful to have a teacher and practice who are the real deal. it'd be an honor if you'd like to practice together. 

with the grace of the mightiest powers of the universe, i somehow eeked out of nursing school. *i have yet to pass the national boards to become a registered nurse, but i'm already working and dig it, so far. i am sooooo grateful for those who've supported me along the way because without them, i ain't squat. and away we grow!
